Would you believe that that server actually made me play RO again? I mean, WTF! Okay, actually, I'm a bit overdue at posting this since it's been running for more than 2 weeks now but hey!
So what's in the server? Well apparently, Level Up! Games decided to make a new server. It boasts a modified experience rate (1.5x EXP) and it's all totally fresh. Best of all, it's all totally FREE! Demmit! No more prepaid cards for me to buy game time which ends up getting wasted after a week or so.
Whoa! So it's free. What's the catch? Well, simple really. It's slightly different from normal servers. First of all, there is no way to teleport (unless you're a Rogue with Intimidate/Snatch, using Warp Portal/Kafra, or a guild member in a guild with Emergency Recall) as all Fly Wings, Butterfly Wings (noooooooo!!!!), Creamy Cards, and even the Acolyte's (and Super Novice's) teleport skill was completely removed from the game. With teleport out of the picture, Acolytes now follow the tree as:
Ruwach --> Pneuma --> Warp Portal
Some items, particularly cards, are also removed. Besides Creamy, all boss cards, Ghostring, and Angeling cards were removed from gameplay totally. Certain items dropped by other monsters were also tweaked. Say for example, Rocker Cards are not obtainable from Rockers anymore as with most items and cards from low-leveled monsters to help reduce novice botting. Rather, most of them can be found in...
Cash Shops are now available. There are three of them: Valkyrie NPC, Crusader NPC, and gawd who knows what the other one is because of all the people surrounding them. Anyway, they showcase most of the popular slotted equipment and items around. The Crusader NPC even sells CARDS! This makes the dream set of people come true rather easily by just paying for it.
Other than that, Valkyrie is rather glitchy. The upgrade NPCs are all missing as well due to an upgrading glitch. *laugh*

So all I can say is that it's a desperate thing Level Up! did but, like my friend said, it was also a smart move since they knew they would gain more from selling items via cash shops instead of selling game time. Heck, they managed to get 9000+ people on the servers too.
I'm there and all and I was really tempted to buy equipment too (and I did buy them. *laugh*) but mostly I'm there for my friends who are also playing.

Hmmm.. so you pay real money for game items? Sounds lame. I hope you and your friends have fun though, that's all Ragnarok can really provide anymore.

i think only some items (the good ones) are sold by real money... standard equips are just.. normal... it's sad... people with money have a really good costumized equips/// T_T
No.. what's sad is they are willing to spend money for materialistic things that aren't even material.
