Hollywood never ceases to amaze me with how much it utterly fails. Most movies these days aren't done for characters or to tell a new story, and, those that usually do have a tendency of failing as hard as movies that are remakes of older movies, tv shows, comic books, commercials, and, of course, videogames.
It seems they plan to add more failure into the mix by producing something that people have not wanted for the past nine years.

Justin Chatwin will star as Goku, a powerful warrior who protects the Earth from an endless stream of rogues bent on dominating the universe and controlling the mystical objects from which the film takes its name. James Marsters is onboard as the film's villain Piccolo.
Words cannot express the rage and sorrow that filled my heart when I read this entire article. I know this has been something that has been talked about and expected and loathed, but to believe that Twentieth Century Fox would actually GO THROUGH WITH IT...well...as I said, I cannot fathom even the words to express the sheer fury within me.
Its actions like this that make me think that movies aren't made to entertain anymore. They're made to only really make a quick buck. And even if you tell people that you shouldn't go to these movies because, if they do, Hollywood will continue to make bad movies, they won't listen. Its the same with smoking too; I'll never understand why people do things that are bad for them and give money to the people who are killing them. Wait, did I just say this movie would kill you? Maybe it will. I mean, humans can only take so much of something before it inevitably kills them. Maybe watching enough bad movies can kill people. THEN WHY AM I NOT DEAD?!
Actor-director-writer Stephen Chow ("Kung Fu Hustle") is producing. "Final Destination" helmer James Wong will direct from a script he penned. Ben Ramsey wrote an earlier draft.
Stephen Chow did a couple of good movies. Shaolin Soccer made me laugh every so often, and Kung Fu Hustle wasn't all that bad. However, if you don't know it already, James Wong is a terrible director. He's responsible for two out of the three Final Destination movies. Those movies made me want to shove a VHS cassette of Smokey and the Bandit into my torn out intestines and have my legs cut off while hypnotized beavers thought my head was wood and proceeded to add it to their dam.
James Wong is also responsible for other failures such as The One, Willard, and he also produced Black Christmas, which was also stupid. So, I have little to no faith in his ability to direct movies.
Millions of dollars go out to these failures called motion pictures and I'll never understand the vision they initially had. In my opinion, after the english adaptation finished, DBZ should've gracefully made an exit from the spotlight. It has, for a while, and the videogames aren't bad at all. The DVD releases have been expensive, but quiet, which is good. But I fear that it will make an unnecessary return along with this piece of excrement called a movie.
Is it needed?
Who wants a DBZ movie?
And do you honestly expect it to be good?
I mean, DBZ isn't deep whatsoever. It was good to watch when I was younger and, every so often, its an ok show to watch once in a while. But two hours on a big screen with LIVE ACTION ACTING AND ACTORS will be a failure of epic proportions.
I don't like bitching about this crap. I don't like the fact that millions of dollars will be shoved into a movie that SHOULD NOT BE THOUGHT OF IN THE FIRST PLACE.
I honestly hope and, to a lesser extent, pray that someone in Hollywood will suffer greatly for this movie. I hope all of their careers end up in the toilet as a prime example of why bad movies SUCH AS THIS should not be made. The only way that this could be any worse would be if it had Uwe Boll directing or co-directing it.
But maybe James Wong will be our anime version of Uwe Boll. We'll probably see more anime movies because of this one.
Just listen to this:
"If you stop going to bad movies, they'll stop making bad movies."
Don't make more people deal with this. I don't want another Doom movie. I don't want another Tomb Failure- I mean, Tomb Raider movie. I don't want more Wing Commanders and BloodRaynes. I want movies that are good and original. I want movies to be directed well. If you have to throw hundreds of millions of dollars into a movie, make it worth my while. No more comic book movies either. I'm really not looking forward to anymore.

Oh man, I just had a horrible thought. What if they create a movie based on a game that was based on an anime?
I think I need to lie down...

I've lost hope in Hollywood for quite a while now…
Google Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins. If you haven't watched this yet, you don't know horror when you see it.
Oh and you shouldn't be scared by a movie based on a videogame based on an anime. You should be scared by a movie based on a videogame based on anime which was also a graphic novel and was inspireds by a 16th century play which was remade into a movie in the 90s and taken as a children's fairytale.
Whew...

well the good ideas have been taken already so now people think making remakes are the only "good ideas"...

anadorn said:But its impossible to say that we've used up every ounce of fictional and nonfictional creativity. I mean, sure, there might be similiarities in a few movies if they come straight from ideas, fantasies, etc.
But mostly everyone is creative and can come up with original content. Remakes, adaptations, and whatnot, however, don't suffer this as you have every idea and necessary plot layed out in front of you. The only thing you have to do afterward is hire a few actors, put it all together, it'll be good or bad either way, and you still walk away with a handsome amount of money. Nothing about that movie was your creation, no matter who says "Someone Someone's vision of this is astounding" especially when that's all it is: someone else's vision of someone else's works.
Every so often, these remakes and adaptations into movie form are ok and even really good. I seriously enjoyed Spider-Man 2 and I consider it one of the best movies I've ever seen. I, somewhat, enjoyed that Silent Hill movie, although the ending REALLY sucked and half of the movie had almost nothing to do with the games.
There are really bad ones too like the Fantastic Four movies, and all of the videogame movies made by Uwe Boll. So far, I have no faith whatsoever in that Castlevania movie or in this DBZ movie they are making.
But if these movies make you more excited than a groom on his wedding night, then go ahead. But don't blame me when they have Meg Ryan playing as Edward in the Full Metal Alchemist movie. Don't blame me when they have David Wenham cast as Ichigo Kurosaki and Rebecca Romijn as Orihime Inoue. And Jason Statham as Roger Smith in a Big-O adaptation.
Yuck...

Funny, I had a similar discussion with a couple of friends a month ago when we were discussing the possibility that Metalocallypse could be dubbed in Québécois… I warn them that they'd probably pick Eric Lapointe to dub Nathan Explosion's voice (the guy is a rocker,
not a metal head but just a rocker, and a pretty lame commercial one at that…). Of course nobody heeded my warnings so we'll just have to wait and see…

ELIJAH WOOD AS NEAR FROM DEATH NOTE!!!
Ehehe. Oh and Zero. Here's my reply to your asploding super cancer.

one reason why i read death note, not watch
I believe there has been an attempt to make a live action Dragonball movie before. But I do know that there was a Dragonball rip-off movie done in the Philippines (I can't remember the title, but it's definitely a Dragonball rip-off).
As far as Death Note, there is a live action version (I actually saw it on TV here) and the DVD is out here in Japan. I need to finish the anime first before I seek out a fansubbed live action version.
iRO Chaos Characters:
IdyotAko - 99/67 Lord Knight.............................Aima Lichu - 75/45 Sage
Aeag Sedah - 73/39 High Wizard................................Aima Taikdat - 81/50 Gank Rogue
Vendi Productus - 95/44 Forge Blacksmith.............Aima Bardu - 57/26 MS Bard
I_R_teh_1337!!! - 90/46 FS Priest.......................Aima Whupyah - 61/46 Battle Acolyte (Monk)
mAnUnUmPiT - 73/45 Hunter..............................Aima Alchy - 99/50 Battle Alchemist
