Why cant Kyrie block a monks Asura when the skill tells

cause KE like blocks certain amount of damage I think, so KE just lowers asura damage not blocks it.

Kyrie used to block 3 hits for each party member, and it only took one cast. They nerfed that long ago because you could have 2-3 priest, 2 doing kyrie all the time and one healing and you could take on any mvp. So it sounds like that's an old description.
But now, 1st attack certain % chance it fully absorbs the attack, for each time you get attacked after that, the absorbtion rate lowers, until it's gone. I'm not familar exactly with how it lowers, but a while ago I was told 1st attack blocks a significant amount of damage.

The amount of damage absorbed by Kyrie is dependent on your max HP and DEF... at least that's what I observed. When I have level 10 kyrie on my Rogue, it would dissipate after about 5-6 hits from like a Raydric without it doing Magnum Break. Meanwhile, a level 10 Kyrie on my LK almosts lasts forever. Heck... the spell wears off before it actually dissipates from attacks. The only exception is when I'm up against stronger monsters like Abby. If Abby by itself is attacking me with Kyrie... it seems to last about 3-5 hits when he's doing normal attacks, but completely disappears when he does Brandish (and I would take about half or less of what his normal Brandish would have done. This seems to hold true as well when I go Frenzy. If I attack lesser monsters while in Frenzy and Kyrie... the damn this lasts a very very long time. But if I was to attack a much stronger monster (like a Loli for example). The Kyrie disappears after a good 5-8 hits from it. This is due to the fact that yes, my HP tripled, but my DEF went to 0. So with Kyrie on, I get the benefit of a stronger Kyrie due to my max HP, but it also doesn't last as long due to the lack of DEF.
I can't remember, but I thought I saw like a formula for Kyrie somewhere before... >.> might have been a dream or something...

So that means it really depends on your max hp. The more Hp you got the more chance kyrie would last longer than expected.

Safetywall can get expensive, but in the long run it's better because it's perfect misses. It probably also depends in the case of the max hp of the given character...

nah I guess not. Ive sin an Assin protected under the shelter of Safety wall, no matter how many asura monks give em hes still standing laughing.....but after 12 blows he kissd the floor. I guess its on how many blows u get than how many hp u got.

Safety Wall's better for people who stand still i.e. Mages. As for Kyrie, they last longer for VIT-types and those who'd clearly be in the front lines. Assumptio's good for everyone but benefits more from VIT-types.
