I found that ppl could hijack the forums if they inserted specialy crafted javascript eg.. posting

<script>
document.location="http://oc.ormgas.com";
</script>

in a thread would redirect the browser of any viwer of the thread to the site os.ormgas.com.. and thus noone would be able to view (or moderate) the tread (safe for fuse, gn0me and I)

As you can see this is nolonger a problem..

I don't know if i can.. but i will give it a try.. basicly before the changes any smart user could totaly fuck up a forum thread.. if she wrote the right thing in a comment.. nobody would be able to see the thread anymore... instead of seeing the forum thread page you would see som other site of the smart users choice..

But anywayes it is fixed so this isn't a problem any more... Sadly i am but human.. so it is very posible that i have erred in fixing this problem... so i cannot garantee that some part of these forums have not been broken by the fix..

if this is the case please let me know Smile

Does PHP work in the forums? If it does I would block it because it would be easy to hack with PHP aloud.

No.. that would never work... the messages are stored in a db that is feched out within php processing and outputed.. so no... and now html tags dosn't ether..

No reply yet huh? I saw this yesterday and I was gonna give him a chance to help you out. Anyways the style attribute is a way of using CSS yes (cascading style sheets). Good guess. But now onto the more important.

If you do decide to program in CSS, it is a very wise choice, not from only the templating aspect, keeps your HTML cleaner, everything is universally referenced.

Example:

<span style="font-weight: bold;">RagnarokHQ.com</span>
This way is bad

===========

</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css">
</head>
... [body stuff]
<span class="title">RagnarokHQ.com</span>

Now take a look at the CSS document:

span.title{
font-weight: bold;
}

This way is good!

I know it seems like more work, but the amount of manipulation a css provides is extraordinary.

Going over the forum code we seem to do this.. some... Is there any reason we don't use the flexible block system that gn0me made on the forums when we use them elsewhere?

About the CSS, that is me sorta cheating. I really should relay 100% on the CSS file.

About gn0me's theme class, we can program in it. Keeps things clean I suppose, but then you gotta program both the php file and the thm file. I've sorta relied on cheating w/ the old fashioned stuff Winking

Ok ill try putting it into the default.css file sometimes then...

We should also specify a font family for all the fonts..

the text flows out the bottom of the box (about 3 lines) on the front page (linux has strange fonts) also "fox!" sticks out the right side of the bottom box..
