So yeah..

most likely i'll be heading off to a college that's a four-hour commute from where i live right now. therefore, i'm aware that i'll have less opportunities to see my family/parents, and almost especially no chances to visit the friends that i have made in high school these past four years.

in truth, i'm scared of moving away and being on my own. i know that a lot of other high school seniors yearn to be on their own.. but somehow i'm still skeptical.
and yeah.. for the most part i'm sad that i may not have time to see my past friends.

questions:

#1. how can i cope with living a "new life"? since i'll have to make new friends and such.

#2. if i'm aware that i'll have to move soon, there's something else that has been perplexing me.

*side story: i have never been in a relationship with another girl before in my life.. and i always have wanted to know how that felt.

continuing from #2: is it worth it to find someone to be in a relationship with, considering that we'll most likely be at different colleges and especially at longer distances from eachother?

yeah. these are just the things on top of my head. sorry if i sound a bit too um.. emotional? (i'm not sure how to put it...)

but yeah.. i hope that i can recieve some feedback. thank you for your time.

haha...

yjin..... i dont really know how to answer your questions...
but since that i moved to US like that... i guess you do nothing

i mean just attend school, and such.. dont worry about friends... you willl have some in a while
in classes, just concentrate of school, and then some people that somehow like you will getting closer and closer.. and about... 2 years you will have a lot of friends again haha... hey... this is my 2nd year in US, and i have a lot more friend than my first year haha..

for question #2... i never been in relationship either, but i know how it feel.... hey.. in the end, it's about you and her.... i REALLY like someone... and i dont even have the chance to say goodbye in person.. sigh... read my previous post(in life) if u want to know more.. but this is my opinion... how much do you like her? what can you see in your future with her? do you think she's the kind of girl who will forget you? is she serious? are you serious? and then, if you think you love her enough, then you will keep in contact... i mean no matter how far u are you still can call, email and such... hey, i am 1/2 world away from my crush... and i still dont give up haha

i guess this dont really help, but i hope it give u some inspiration hehe

in response to israel's post:

yes. the college is located far away.

in other terms:
i currently live in location A.
my family and friends are in location A.
i have a love interest in location A.

in 6 months, i will move to location B, which is 4 hours away from location A.

in response to dynewind's post:

thank you. it did help. if you have friends, family, and a love that's halfway across the world, and you're still alive, then i can probably cope with just 4 hours of driving distance.

Here's teh thing Yjin...
I think you should just let things happen spontaneously.

Yeah things would really be different. It's like leaving half of your identity behind. Definitely it's all about adjusting and everything else.

Now about finding a new 'love interest', i don't suppose it's actually appropriate to PLAN it. I mean, if it's there, it's coming and it'll fall into place. At teh right time. And with teh right person.

Moving away for college doesn't really mean you have to organize every single move and plan waaaaaay ahead.

Who knows, it might be really fun. It'll open teh door to INDEPENDENCE for you. =)

Good luck! I hope I helped.Oops

He probably won't have to plan for true love; it's just a 4-hour drive away after all, he can still visit his girlfriend on weekends.
