Bleedman's PPG doujinshi stopped because he wanted to work in Grim Tales first. When he finished Grim, his original plan to continue PPG was changed. Dyne the anime doesn't cover as much as the manga... It's always like that...
Let's use Genshiken for example, in the manga; the latest Del Ray translation so far is volume 7(or was it 8? and spans to vol 9) but the anime which only has 12 eps only covered up to vol 4-5 and even missed a Lot of important events from vol 2-3
