the new acta law is sort of a dmca on steroids. basically, if someone even thinks you have copyright material on your computer, they tell the isp, isp shuts off your internet, and without a warrant, they can go into your web history and see hat sites you been to and what you have downloaded.it has not gone into affect yet, and is in talks with a few of the world leaders including the US, UK, Japan, and i think Russia and China.

also, isnt this sort of unconstitutional?

Here's the wikipedia article if you need more information; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Counterfeiting_Trade_Agreement#ISP_cooperation

And here's an online petition against teh Acta; http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/allagainstacta/

I've also heard that other countries are also planning similar laws. If you want to fight this infringment on your constittutional rights, then please sign this petition, spread the word, link this in other forums you're frequenting. This law must not pass!

Thank you. (and yeah, I know, it's weird when I'm getting serious...)

98% of the internet nation has a Myspace. If you're part of the 2% that can resist stupid fads, copy and paste this into your sig.
