I recently watched an anime short made by SquarEnix called - "Last Order FF7". At the part of the Nibelheim Mako reactor, Cloud recalls the events of that night. In this short Zack arrives earlier than Cloud does. This is the 3rd person of what Sephiroth is doing.
After the fight w/ Sephiroth, Zack is severally hurt. Cloud wards of Sephiroth (whom flees into the lifestream w/ JENOVA) - but carries his own share of battle wounds.
Once Shinra gets there, Hujo says when examining Zack (whom is still partially alive): "Take this one to the Shinra Mansion Basement".
As for Cloud, I forget what he says about him, but he decides to keep him for testing. Either exposing him to Mako or the fact that he's decent of JENOVA/Clone of Cloud. In either case, they insert Zack's memories into Clouds mind. While Cloud still retains both memories together... strange!
As you all know from playing FF7, Cloud has a flashback when you visit the Shinra Mansion Basement in Nibelheim. It's of Zack and Cloud (5 years after Sephiroth and Nibelheim incident) when they were going to Midgar to become mercenaries for prestige. I believe the connection with what Hujo said with the flashback means Vincent = Zack. There are countless pieces of evidence that point to this.
I also believe that Hujo took his memories of Lucille and put them into Vincent, hence Zack doesn't remember his best friend Cloud, but instead the once lost love of his life, which involves much more feelings.
Consider these facts that prove Zack = Vincent:
* Turk = 1st class SOLDIER. Whenever Shinra talked to Cloud he referred to him and knew him not as a peon but as a first class soldier. Shinra usually only directly deals with military ops known as the Turks. So I think Shinra got Cloud confused with Zack, or just played along with the brainwashing that Cloud = Zack scenario.
* Cloud holds memories of both himself and Zack. When he recalls events in the game such as the burning of his home town, he has some omniscience when telling the story. Both Zack's and Cloud's experience. Even what sephiroth was doing inside the reactor before he entered. Of course minus Zack since he thinks he's Zack he can't have 2 bodies, that's why you don't see him in the game.
* Additional proofs contained in Last Order FF7.
* Vincent's resembalence to Zack. The face covering is to draw attention away from Vincents face, to not have you guessing. And his hair is the same as Zack's, but if it were to not be gelled.
* Hujo's memories are inserted into Vincent. They needed to replace Zack's memories with someone elses so he wouldn't question his will to live, and his own sense of identity.

* Remember when the picture was taken of Cloud/Tifa/Sephiroth when Cloud revisted his home town after joing SOLDIER.
* In "Last Order" Zack appears in the picture instead of Cloud.
* Same hair style.
* Same Sword.
* Cloud lives on as Zack when he adopts Zack's memories.
Facts we already know(Rumor Confirmed fact by watching "Last Order":
* Another untold thing but as most have figured out is Cloud is a clone of Zack.
* Meteor is mother.

I would believe Zack = Vincent they alike now that you mention it but....
Didnt zack get like...sniped in the head? Maybe he didnt since it credits starting rolling but I dont see how he would have survived that..

In the wikipedia article about vincent valentine they point out the modifications made to him gave him superhuman powers and prevented him for aging. At the time he was near death too.

Well I was sort of confused when after Cloud and Zack got beat, then Hojo's team appeared...then after that they were in a car? Explain...This part really confused me
i didnt like last order at all mostly because a lot of things were different. Such as Zack and the sniping in the head, in the video game they made it to a hill near midgar then zack went to fight off some guys and died, cloud crawled to him picked up his sword put his hands to his temple and gave out a cry with no sound, that's what i remeber. And also in the game Sephiroth didnt jump in, he stabbed cloud in the chest, Cloud then dragged himself closer lifted the sword (and sephiroth with it) and then thrashed back and fourth till sephiroth fell into the mako.
I completely ignored any info this gave on cloud and Zack and i doubt Cloud is a clone of Zack, seeing as they are the same age and Cloud had a mother. Also in the game when your going to the promised land (before weapon escapes) Sephiroth explains to Cloud that he was just a clone of sephiroth and then he told him all his memories were fake and showed him the picture of the Nefhliem reactor, which had Zack instead of him, of course we learn that Cloud isnt a clone of Sephiroth and that he is just tricking him to get the dark materia. Also if their memories were the same Cloud would've remebered being Aeries boyfriend (Zack was her boyfriend, remeber when you first meet her and she says she had a boyfriend/penpal in soldiers before who was first class?). Then again i havent played the gain in over 5 years, i should re-play it this weekend.
Also Vincent was a turk, and he was guarding the shinra experiments in nefhliem i believe, he fell in love with the mother of sephiroth but when he found out she was to be used as an experiment and vincent protested he was sedated and tested on, then vincent decided to just sleep instead of continue in that world.
