How many of you have ever read a review that bashes and exclaims that a game is really crappy, and almost didn't pick the game up because of the review? Well, a couple weeks ago I was reading a review of the game this topic is about. I had been wanting to buy the game for a while but decided to read a review on it before I bought it, well, the review pretty much made me want to NOT pick it up.
A few days later I was talking to a friend of mine, and he was talking about Magna Carta(MC) and I asked him how he liked it in the general overview, since he pretty much has the same tastes as me in videogames, anime, etc. He said the game was good, but he was always distracted by other events so he couldn't really give me a solid review of what he had done.
So the next day I went and bought MC, and was I ever in for a surprise. The game is fantastic! The gameplay and combat system are so challenging and exciting, and the graphics and music are beautiful! However, the major flaw would be some of the voice acting, in which there is no way to turn the voices off. But in my view, this is only a minor flaw, after all I learn to drown out voices I dislike and just read the text.
All in all, lesson learned: Read multiple reviews, and definitely don't listen to some of the reviewers on GameSpot.com

I've played pretty far into the game now... the story-line is very complex and very cool. The voice acting is just getting worse as the game progresses, lol. I hope if there is a Magna Carta 2, that they get a better cast for voice actors. The only good voice actor is the main character and a few of the other main people.. but even then some of the voices get out of sync with the lips and it just goes to hell in a hand basket.
Anyway, I recommend this game if you can handle some bad voices for some good gameplay. ^^;
