i dunno if there's a virus in my comp or some spyware but sometimes when i surf the net or just play an offline game, the screen suddenly turns off and i can't turn it on again. i checked my antivirus and the scan showed that there were no viruses in my comp. same thing goes to my anti-spyware program. what's happenin to my comp? i need help badly. it's really freaking me out cuz i have the lights off when i turn on my comp so that we could save energy. (my family's on budget..lol)

already checked it and it's still doing the same thing. i'm going to take my monitor to a computer shop that my uncle works at so he could take a look at it. or maybe my comp is just possessed..? nah...but could it

It could be an issue with the power supply... my sister has the same issue, but when she got it fixd, she said it got worse. But that would be my guess...

it depends... it can be:
videocard problem (such as that of overheating)
powersupply of a monitor (eventually turns into a repetitive clicking noise when left in the on position)
Less we not forget:
check your VGA cable, make sure it's securely fasined in place
check the power, make sure the cable is snug in place
If this happens after the monitor has warmed up, and running for a while it is most likely the videocard... else it's the powersupply. Only checking the powersupply with a multi-meter while on, or the clicking will tell you of this.
I assume when you say turn off, it goes into standby as well...
