What a great sequel! For those who have seen the original, you will not be disappointed. I think it's nearly as good as the first.
I was a big fan of Saw, because it wasn't your oridinary horror flick. Instead of homicides happening because of some psychopath with a back-track mind, it requires clever thinking and deep morals that encompass the killing. In a lot of ways it's a thriller more than it is a horror movie. If you're looking for a kind of movie that employs what I in the business call "scare tactics", this isn't it. On the other hand if you like seeing twisted and grusome things happen... read on.
For firstimers to the series or seasoned veterens: I really suggest you go out and rent the first before seeing this. The plot seemlessly integrates characters from the previous into a sort of backplot. Understanding how the "jigsaw" killer works from the first movie allows your mind to wonder the entire movie. It's simply put: Clever, Captivating, and a little sick.

The only reason I haven't watched this yet is because I fear it would end up just like the last one with the last 25 minutes of it ruining the movie...

If you didn't like the first, then you'll definitely not like the second. It's got some pretty big twists, and if you're not into that kind of thing towards the end, then... yeah. >_<
Personally I loved both of the movies, such a great spin on the horror genre, all of a sudden serial killer's minds are somewhat believable.
