Hello, i have been developing a project to backup this (and other) webpages each day.. currently it does not backup the mysql DB..
anyone out there who also want to backup a website please join the development. (Fuse you sould also do backups, it is incremental backupping so it dosn't take long after the first backup)
On another topic I have my last exam on the 20. where after I will be able to devote much more time to this page.. (and implement any suggestions you might have)

I did conduct a successful backup! I read you have to use the restore function to write the files to a directory of your choosing though... is that correct?
And also, the script is smart right? It does an MD5 hash on the files, so we know if there was any changes. So next time I backup, a lot of files will be skipped right?
Thanks!

That is almost entierly correct, only I use SHA 1 hashing, also at some point in the future i will make it possible to retrive a single or portion of the files from the backup, for now you can uncompress the backupfile in winrar (or bunzip2) and open it in a text editor to find the hash of the files you need, the locate them by their hash value in the files directory..
