If you have emotional pain to make you remeber and be a wimp for your whole life, obviously you fail. Both can lead to psychological so who cares about that!

[Edit] Actually this question is kinda hard since you have to expand on what you mean by emotional. That police officer one would be more psycological then emotional imo.
Good point on emotional from remebering the scar, but the physical leads to the emotional so essentially the physical would hurt more, especially remebering that pain.

As long as you have your health and sanity, you can still move on.

What you folks haven't said yet is that physical pain can turn into emotional pain overtime. Let's say a kid is being physically abused by his/her dad for example. This shouldn't even be a debate. Physical pain is definitely something that hurts regardless, but emotional pain is a pain that no medicine can cure except time... and maybe psychotherapy...
