How would you guys feel about me implementing a reputation style system where users can rank other users. It would be sorta like you would get 1 vote to vote for each user. But you can only rate other users if you've been given 5 or more unique positive ratings.
I find that much more useful than the number of posts. I'm not saying to get rid of that, but it's much more useful in terms of understanding the usefulness of the user's posts versus post counts.

Sounds like those Karma things in forums. Sounds good especially the part where you can rank only if you've been given 5+. Also, make it so admins or higher ups can wipe a person's reputation if they've majorly violated or etc...

sounds cool, but that might get into like, karma contests or something lol. all the sites I've been on with karma always have a few people who do anything they can to raise thier karma so they look popular.
This wouldn't be a popularity contest... and Kalajel, the idea is that you get to vote once to each person. Not just once and then you're done. People, get the idea of popularity out of your head, this is the internet and it shouldn't really be a focus. We're here to discuss common interests, not to play through high school drama.

How do I vote? We can only vote once? How about grading a user? Like giving him/her stars and so on. Because what if we already used our vote, then someone new came and we realize that he/she is more worth the vote than teh one we used our vote with?
