well, they do sometimes eat their child, so that's why you seperate them, and make sure that the parents have enough nutrition so they dont eat their child
In one story I heard, the children ate the mother. Now these are the kind of evil hamsters I need to recruit for my army!

yah me too. i had a hamster before and it did the cannibalism thing. at first I was like happy as in skies the limit kinda happines coz my hamster gave birth to 5 cute hairless pinky skinned innocent baby hamsters..when i checked the pen for like after 24hrs..those cute innocent baby hammsies were gone! I was like thinking that they hid under the wood shaving coz theyr like borrowing right but all i found was a dead baby hammsy with guts scattered on the wood shavings! I mean it was a bloody mess!
I didnt thrw my hamster aftre the cannibalism incident, you know what i did to her? I made a hamster stew out of that Blood thirsty, baby eater hamster and guess what it tasted so good
