When we went to USA 4years ago, our connecting flight was located at Japan. Our flight was scheduled day after, so teh airlines provided accomodation at... err, Nikkon Hotel? OMG I actually forgot teh name of teh hotel.

Anyways, we were able to go to teh mall during our stay. And yeah, I saw those Japanese students wearing their sailor moon uniforms. Maybe that's their 'standard' uniforms are. Like for example, here in teh Philippines, there are colleges where their college students wear long sleeved blouses and skirts. High school students wear short sleeved blouses. But I'm not saying ALL SCHOOLS are like that. Probably most.

And yeah, considering it's cold at Japan during some seasons... Like when we went there, it's around late March, and upon arriving at teh airport, I saw a big red flashing 12degrees in their thermostat reading by teh bus station.>_>;

They have these really loooooooong thick socks warming their big legs. Yes, I saw a lot of japanese girls with huge legs and small bodies. It was OMG-ing. Confuzzled

But hell, they've got really nice hair and good skin. Nosebleed!

Actually all schools have uniforms in Japan, and this is the official girl's uniform. Color and cut may vary, but all girls wear the sailor uniform at school.

As for why they adopted this uniform, I have no idea. It reeks of fetish! Kind of like the catholic school girl uniform…

I guess that's what happen when you call on an heterosexual male designer to design school girl outfits…Happy

Have you folks forgotten I'M IN JAPAN?!?!?!

Japanese schools are very strict when it comes to their uniforms and such. I've actually have yet to see Japanese students not wearing their uniform going to or coming from school. I'm not sure why they wear it, but it definitely has something to do with tradition.

And as far as weather goes, they actually wear long coats and boots, along with thigh-high stockings. Apparently, that's enough to keep them warm.

It's sad really... coz I commit a sin everytime I see schoolgirls here... /sob

Not to say I'm not enjoying it... Tickled Pink

Japanese people are very disciplined. It probably goes back to the traditional ways of Japan. Now why the skirts are that small I don't think was a designer accident. It could be so it's easier to go to the bathroom in a dress skirt, or it could be for other reasons Whateva

Yeah. But in Japanese culture, think of how these ideas thrive in the ideas of young men. Any guy that isn't gay would have to picture something happening there. I will skip the details, but let's just call it instinctual. It's surprising because dressing like that is like the equivalent of dressing - Smart-Casual-Slutty, since it is a traditional dress, can't forget the smart casual.

And when I say slutty, I don't mean this a dig against women. It's true that guys can be called studs and stuff, we can be raging sexaholics, but as soon as a women wants to look sexy to a littlier or more extreme, she's instantly a slut. So I'm sorry for it being this way, because that's totally not where I am going with this.
