Hey guys do u have any idea whih anime or video game started the twin sword trend? I mean, just like in Chrono trigger wre we could see the twin Masa and Mune which when combined, it forms into Masamune. That ice and fire sword brothers that guards that gate in Devil may cry 3.

These are the video games that i know having twin blades in the game, i think there are still more out there.

I dunno. I guess it started with dual daggers or a sword/dagger first then someone thought of wielding dual swords and looking cooler with them.

As far as I know, the Sword/Dagger is an old combination.

Other games include:
Ragnarok Online
ADOM (although this one's just based on ASCII art and text-based role-playing)
Kingdom Hearts
.hack series (particularly Kite)
Diablo II
a bunch of others I couldn't remember...

You could wield double shields and double whips in ADOM. Double shields proved useful. Double whips...just hope you don't even perish just by brandishing them. Also, Barbarians in Diablo II can wield two-handed swords in one hand and another (one-handed) sword in another.

My friend wants to see a double scythe.

ive seen the barbarian in DII, and he sure can bash demons like crazy with a double weapon.

i bet no video game char could wield double spears.

Yep, that's been the trademark of the Ranger since the 1st Ed. Then in the 3rd Ed. you have a feat called two-weapon fighting.
